These exceptional courses are located close to the Everglades. The fairways are wide open, and water comes into play on twelve holes.The signature hole on the Championship Course is #12, a 452-yard, par 4, requiring a tee shot through a cypress forest to an island green.The Glades Course has water that comes into play on five holes. You cannot walk the Championship Course, but walking is permitted on the Glades Course.

Tough Test of Golf, Jul 11, 2011

This one is not for beginners. If you are a beginner, I recommend playing the Glades course across the street. If you do play, I wouldn't play from the green tees if you have a 23 handicapp like me- especially with a 30 mph wind. The course is very nice so bring your A game or you'll get your moneys worth by getting over a hundred shots. It was once ranked as the #1 most difficult public course in Broward. Where is that book of lists. The Glades course is nice too and is pretty challenging especially for an exec course.

Blame it on the rain...worst shape i've seen this place in yrs. Palm-aire in Pompano the only place to play...lunch and golf for a modest fee..Colony just hands you the bill..great staff at the bar though..thats the only reason for going

Elmwood Country Club
"Magnificent"
This course is quite enjoyable to play. While length is not much of a factor, it plays much tighter than it appears. It is a fun course, and one that will test your risk/reward skills. The course is well developed, and very hilly. I would suggest that you ride while playing this course as well. This course is one that I wouldn't mind playing any day of the week.

Tierra del Sol Golf Club
"Played Tierra del Sol many times"
Tierra del Sol is an excellent test of any golfers ability. Several holes present outstanding challenges with water, out-of-bounds, undulating terrain, and several difficult (blind) tee shots involved. The course becomes even harder when wind comes up as it often does in this Mojave Desert community. This is an outstanding course to play for the money. Only lack of conditioning excellence on some holes keeps this from rating higher.

Dobson Ranch Golf Course
" Great Experience"
We played Dobson Ranch and found the course to be player friendly but still had challenging greens. The overall condition of the course was great with the exception of the sand traps which could be better. The friendly staff in the Pro Shop made for a great experience.

Raceway Golf Club
"a weekend player"
I have been playing this course for 20 years and the course is so improved and impeccable the last time I played which was last August, full irragation and watering systems that have been in full use for about 5 years now have greatly improved the play also paved cart paths and new and completely changed layouts are a real challenge. I and my friends always enjoy a day at the Raceway, it ends with a great meal in the Raceway Restaurant with abundant plates for your dollar and great food choices. Priced right, can't beat it.
