This course is long and demanding with one of the highest slope ratings for a public course in the Tampa area. It was cut out of a swamp that still frequently comes into play. Many of the greens are elevated, and some natural wildlife is visible on the course.

Lots of narrow fairways and tight doglegs make accuracy a must on this Par 71 course. Leave the driver in the bag on the Par 5 3rd hole which winds right and is bordered by wetlands on the right and a pond along the left. The par 3 8th measures nearly 200 yards and requires a tee shot over a small pond to an average size green sloping severely from back to front. A difficult test for golfers of all abilites. Summertime rates, advertised specials, and student discounts make it a bargain. Staff is very friendly and helpful as well. A top notch play in Tampa.

Eagle Ridge Golf Club
"Toughest course I've ever played."
I live in Arizona and I've played golf on many courses and Eagle Ridge gave me the most bang for my buck. Challenging holes, beautiful scenery, and reasonable prices. I'd reccommend this course to seasoned golfers, beginners may have trouble with some of the bunkering and forced carries but nobody said golf was fair. Pull out the big stick and let it rip in Gilroy. Don't forget to say hello to Uncle Frank.

Winter Springs Golf Club
"Winter Springs Wetlands"
This course is challenging because your lie had better be in the fairway or you'll most likely be looking for it in some form of casual water or very thick rough. The fairways were either overly-tight, negelected, outright wet, or all three. The greens are a muddy, slow-medium to slow speed with only a fair amount of undulation. The par 3 greens are almost all too large and too flat to be much fun. I've played WPGC twice and didn't really enjoy the experience because of all the standing water in the rough and on the fairways. I'm rating the course at 2 stars only because they have reliable and frequent refreshment cart service.
