This course, built in the shadow of picturesque Norris Lake, is noted for its fast, undulating, twin-tiered greens with many pin placements situated precariously close to water hazards. The fairways are generally long and rolling, and bordered by a lush assortment of pre-existing trees. Many holes are guarded by water and bunkers. Woodlake's signature hole is #11, a 548-yard, par 5, which plays slightly uphill and features a very narrow fairway, which is bordered by an abundance of small man-made lakes. Surrounding the green is a bounty of challenging bunkers. Beginners will find the course difficult to score well on, however, the course is designed for all levels of play.

Turner Brothers Review, Apr 24, 2006
reviewer: Lawrence ,Roger,Charlie, Jim and George Turner from Layfette Ind and Norfolk Va
We have traveled twice a year since Woodlake has opened from Ind and Virginia to play this beathful course and it is worth every mile, each hole tells its own story with a breath taking view, when you make the turn ask for some fish food to feed the fish at the pond. The staff and maintence crew do a great job and thanks to the folks who cravered out this wonderful course out of this mountain and took nothing out just added to it.

If you want to play golf without jet airplanes trains, or interstate highwaysthen come on. This is one of the greatest courses and best run in this part of the country. I have play all the big names courses in Knoxville and the East Tennessee area and this one tops them all.
