Overpeck County Golf Course273 E Cedar Ln Teaneck, NJ 07666 Phone: (201)837-3020Fax: (201)837-8592
This course was built on an open terrain and several lakes and lagoons coming into play on many holes. Hole #5 is the most difficult hole, requiring two different shots over water. Be aware of the geese that make their home on this course.

Great deal for the price, Aug 08, 2007

| First of all the negatives - very difficult to get a decent tee time, moderately challenging even from the tips, territorial canadian geese and occasional slow speed of play. Ancillary services/installments could be better too (alcoholic beverages, clubhouse, driving range, etc.) However all the negatives are outweighed by the positives. Course conditions are some of the best for a muni - fairways and greens (especially after they have just manicured the course) are comparable to many private courses I have played. Several very nice holes - #1 is a great starting hole and #2 is also good. #3 is a good par 3 up to an elevated green where the wind almost always comes into play followed by a great driving hole on #4 - long hitters will try to go for the green with driver. Not a big fan of holes #5,6, and 7. Just don't seem to be well-thought out holes. But starting from #9 through 17 you enter a stretch of very nice holes that are both entertaining and challenging. Almost feels like two different courses at times with the back side a real pleasure. #18 is a short par 3 - not the greatest closing hole, almost anti-climatic considering the previous 9 holes, but still a good chance at ending the day with a par or birdie... All-in-all, I don't think you can get a better deal for the price... |

Course saturated with golfers and geese on weekends!, Sep 11, 2005

| I went to Overpeck on a Sat. afternoon without a tee-time and was paired up within an hour (so up until this point, not bad at all.) However, once on the course, it was like grid lock on the Jersey Turnpike. Additionally, there is an abundance of geese.
In short, for the price point that they charge, I was not satisfied and will not return here. The course was saturated with golfers and 'that' which is associated with geese. Because of the lethargic pace of golf, I never made it to the back side, but I would rate the front side a '2' on a scale of 1 - 10 (10 best).
