This is as outstanding resort course because of its design, beauty, maintenance, and enjoyment of play. It was ranked 7th in difficulty by "California Golf Magazine." Water hazards (including four lakes and a couple of creeks) come into play on at least five separate occasions, plus many sand and grass bunkers are spread throughout the course's design. The terrain is somewhat hilly, so expect many uneven lies. The fairways are either lined by trees, natural vegetation, or out-of-bounds stakes, putting shot accuracy at a premium. The signature hole is #8, a 165-yard, par 3, requiring a tee shot from off an elevated tee (about forty feet high) to an island green. The other three par 3's on the course are equally challenging. Hole #12, a 165-yard, par 3, requires a tee shot from off an elevated tee to a green that is protected by a forty-foot wide sand bunker in front, plus additional bunkers on both the left and right sides. All the undulating greens vary from average to large in size, and some feature two and three tiers. Hole #18 will prove to be a challenging way to conclude your round. This hole, a par 5, is 555 yards in length and requires an assortment of shots in order to make par. Wind can be a factor during the late afternoon. Redhawk Has Never Been Better, Feb 15, 2004

Redhawk Golf Course in the Temecula Valley has never been in better shape. Fairways are perfect and greens are almost as perfect. Challenging for all abilities. And the green fees are manageable.

River Forest Country Club
"what about the greens"
What makes river forest a difficult course is their greens.They can put the pin placements where it is possible to three and four putt greens even if you play it everyday.Slopping greens make every putt a challenge. They also have added a water hazard to #3 making it impossible to reach in 2.With the addition of new tee boxes and several holes with where you can knock it OB good luck for all you 10 handicappers to try and break 90 on you first couple rounds.

Lakes at El Segundo, The
"Great Course, Better Practice Facility"
The Lakes at El Segundo is a beutiful course with some stunning par 3s. The couse is made up of moslty short par 3s and a couple short par 4s. The holes are all very short and beautifully kept. This couse can be played by both beginners and eperts alike. The downsides are that the course is crowded, so expect to wait on the tees. I recomend reservations several days in advance. The other downside is that your day is over after only nine holes. The practice facility is excellent and Tiger Woods, who has a home in nearby Redondo Beach can often be seen playing there. It has an awesome driving range and a huge putting and chipping green. If your just out to get some practice in, or a quick nine holes, this is the place.

Raceway Golf Club
"a weekend player"
I have been playing this course for 20 years and the course is so improved and impeccable the last time I played which was last August, full irragation and watering systems that have been in full use for about 5 years now have greatly improved the play also paved cart paths and new and completely changed layouts are a real challenge. I and my friends always enjoy a day at the Raceway, it ends with a great meal in the Raceway Restaurant with abundant plates for your dollar and great food choices. Priced right, can't beat it.
