This course was built on predominantly flat terrain, but there is some mounding which can cause uneven lies. All the greens are slightly elevated and medium speed. The design features six par 4's measuring up to 352 yards in length. The signature hole is #9, a 223-yard, par 4, requiring a second shot to an island green. Gary Grandstaff redesigned the original holes in 1985. There are additional sets of tees that can be used when playing an eighteen hole round.

Country Club? Ha!, Aug 03, 2006

Shalimar is far from a country club. I just left the "club" where I paid for nine only to play six holes. This was due to the fact that there were several groups spaced out some walking some riding. The group riding in front of me had little to no clue of the game or how to drive a cart, (sliding in the grass). If this "club" thinks they can charge what they do for nine, then they should, keep up the greens, make sure everyone playing has their own clubs and is able to keep with the pace of play. Very disappointed, your money is much better spent at one of the far nicer "clubs" in the valley.

White Hawk Country Club
"Better than others around"
I have golfed at White Hawk for the past three summers and have found it to be a challenging three courses. With black being the hardest it is to the difficult level of a 5-10 handicap player. On average I should in the high 70's and find some days more challenging then others depending on pin placement. But if you are a golf with great accuracy then this course will be almost no match for you. For if you are able to stay in the farways even par is something insight. The course itself is taken care of very nicely and almost all of the employees are friendly. Overall it is my favorite course in the area.

"Best Course"

Cameron Hills Golf Links
"One of the Best I've played"
I had a wonderful time playing Cameron Hills last season. I found this shorter course was both enjoyable and challenging. This is my first year swinging a club and I have visited several courses. I felt this course allowed me to play a challenging round while improving my skills without the frustration of the harder courses. Even though Cameron Hills is an hour away from home, I plan on making a couple of trips to the links this year. I played the course right after Hurricane Isabel played through and the only problem I had with the course was the debris from the hurricane. I don't hold that against Cameron Hills, they made a good attempt at working around the fallen trees. Thanks for a great time, I'm looking forward to visiting again.

"best course in the Carolina's"
This courses greens are in the best shape i have ever played. There fariways and greens are cut daily it seems. At Pebble Creek you can find the best golf and the friednliest people.
