There are eight ponds that also come into play on seven holes. The fairways are basically flat, but there is an occasional hill that can cause uneven lies. The large greens are undulating. The signature hole is #18, a par 4, requiring a tee shot over two lakes, then an approach to a large, well-bunkered green. "Golf Digest" rated this course as the 8th "Best Public Course" in the state for 1996. The same publication awarded it 61st among the "Top 75 Public Courses" for 1990, and as the 10th "Best in State" course for 1997-98. Tee times are only reserved for the weekends.

did not come close to the hype,in my opinion, Jul 25, 2010

average course, average maintained, cart path only for carts, with very long walks if your not a top notch player, the only course I have played so far that lost clubs were not turned in, but rather kept by finders.

D Graves Review, Sep 30, 2004
reviewer: D Graves from Rosedale, IN USA
If you ever wanted to play a top notch course without paying the top notch price, this is the place. The is a course that demands accurate play and you must be able to shape shots and play every club in your bag equally well. The course is in magnificent shape. Play from the back tees and you will leave admiring just how good those guys are on the PGA.

Great course, Apr 22, 2004
reviewer: Derek Fields from Terre Haute, IN
Could be taken care of better. Was originally built with the intentions of hosting a PGA event to be tied in with the Indy 500 since the hulmans donated the land. Very tight off of the tee and you can really get yourself in trouble if you are slicer of the ball. Bring alot of golf balls you will need them make no mistake. Highest slope rating of any public course in Indiana. I only rate it four stars because its not in the shape it used to be in. Make no mistake its on fine shape now...it just used to have better taken care of bunkers and greens. But they are in decent shape.

Hulman Links is Definetly Worth Playing, Mar 21, 2004
reviewer: Mark M. from Terre Haute, IN, US of A
Hulman Links is one of the toughest courses in a large area in and around Terre Haute, IN. The course is almost always in great shape and the practice facilities are very good. From the middle tees, it plays difficult, especially if you aren't familiar with the course. From the back tees, at over 7,200 yards the it is very very intimidating. The majority of the course plays very tight, with only a few exceptions. My advice: hit it straight, and bring several extra golf balls. Hulman Links is definetly worth playing if you are ever in the area.
