| This course is simply beautiful. It is one of the best maintained courses I have played in many years. The par 5's are short but the back nine makes up for it with narrow fairways and the moose river running along its side. The new pro is much better than the previous one. This one actually gives lessons. The superintendant does a great job obviously. Worth every penny he makes. This is a must play course. |

Tight Back Nine, Jun 21, 2006

| Water fairways, fast greens, can score on front 9. Bring extra balls for back nine......not only tight fairways, the black river runs through many of the holes. You can order beer and food prior to completing number nine, and it will be ready for pick up. I will kick Erin's butt on 6-23-06, he will owe me some cheese! Thendara it's worth driving the distance to play this course...
tip of the day -
Stonebridge golf course is a dump, they refuse to put $$ into their course!
Newport is awesome too! |

Hidden Treasure in the Adirondacks, Jun 21, 2006

| Truly a hidden treasure in the Adirondacks. This course is nestled amongst the trees and flowing waters of Herkimer County. Rarely a wait to get on the course, I was able to play around of 18 hitting two balls in 3 hours and 10 minutes. The greens are unlike any I have played before. Never a straight putt. The 9th green looks as if someone buried two elephants on top of each other. A 4 on the 9th hole is a great score. According to locasl not many people hold the top of the green.
Back nine is a scenic beauty with course management at a premium.
Greens fees are reasonably priced, although the pro shot apparel items are a bit pricey.
If you play this course once, you will play it 10 times!! |
