This course definitely ranks well behind Sheridan as far as public courses in town. Very open layout that rarely punishes the errant drive. The course doesn't hold water well and a good rainfall will punish golfers for at least a week. I would recommend this course to beginners or people looking to shoot lower scores: very little challenge here. All 4 par fives are reachable in 2.

I love this course, the greens are kept in good condition. They are very challenging but fun. The fairways are also kept very well. The only thing I would change is the prices and the way it is run. I recommend a membership to anyone!!!!

Chief at Sky Lodge Golf Course, The
"Bring it on!"
The Chief is perhaps the most challenging course I have played in northern Michigan. While it is a toughy, especially from the tips, it brings out a carnal instinct in me to play it again because I know that with my new knowledge I can improve my score. The course was in great shape with its bent tees, greens and fairways nicely manicured. The pro indicated that they just lowered the length of the rough, which made a great improvement. Service was also great in the shop. Leave your driver at home and have some fun.

Great course if your looking for something really different in Florida. With the exception of the Clermont area of Florida you won't find a course more reminiscent of golfing in the Carolina hills.Green fees are very reasonable and you won't be disappointed with the condition.
