This course has wide fairways and large greens. Many trees line the fairways and a few hills can cause uneven lies. Water hazards come into play on some holes. The ladies tee off from the same set of tees as the men. The scorecard doesn't show handicaps for individual holes.

Well kept 9 hole course for short money, May 14, 2004

Convenient location, just of Route 1 in Ipswich, this nine hole course is always in great condition. I have golfed this course many times over the last three years. With greens fees under $20, it is a great spot for a "quick nine." Only criticism is that the course could be marked better. Most holes have only two markers at 100 and 150 yds with none on sprinkler heads.

TimberStone Golf Course
"Worth the trip"
This course is easily the best course I have played. It's on a par with Blackwolf Run and the other Kohler courses at a fraction of the price. This course has a spectacular setting. It winds up and around Iron Mountain, and is a marvel of course design. Despite the elevation changes, only one hole plays uphill. The holes are cut out of the mountain side and winding cart paths take you to the next level, and hole, until you reach numbers 9 and 17, both of which play straight downhill (as does 18, a 600 yard par five with 3 terraced fairways). The grooming is immaculate and each hole is separated from the others by woods or water. Even on a busy day it feels like you're the only golfers on the course. The staff is friendly and efficient and the course is nicely rangered. As you play the course, you will marvel both at the quality of the experience and the incredible engineering required during construction. Rates have been in the $50-60 range for the past several years and its the best golf bargain you can find. This is a course you could play every day and it would remain interesting. The fairways and greens compare with any PGA site. This is one not to miss.

"Good course to teach your kids"
This is a good course to teach tour kids how to golf, because it is a moderately short course. I took my 8 year old son golfing there, and he shot a 58! Not too bad for his first time out, and he had a blast!We have been back twice and can't wait for sping to go again.

"Great bargain for a great course!"
A fun and challenging course. Played the course for years and I have never seen it in better shape. The greens are fast but not out of control and the fairways are nicely kept. All in all, great low rates for a real nice course.

Hickory Sticks Golf Club
"Best Secret in NKY"
Hickory Sticks is an unearthed gem. The condition of the course is near perfect. Because of the location (hidden but only 15 min. from I-275) makes this a logical place to play a quick undisturbed round.
