Shortest Par 3 in L.A. County, Mar 07, 2008

You could almost put this is in someone's backyard--it's tiny. In fact, it's surrounded by a few homes & only separated by very TALL fences. I've played this course for over 40yrs. It's a TRUE beginners course. If you're experienced, you should be able to get around with Putter, Sand Wedge and/or a Pitching Wedge (maybe a 9-iron for the only 100-plus yard hole on the course--uphill). I got my only hole-in-one here, but since it was less than 100-yds. (40-yds.?) it did't count. A great course for a family-outing or to teach your girlfriend or spouse the basics. You STILL have to sink the putts and trying to get under par is what makes it challenging for the better golfer.

Lakeland Hills Golf Course
"Getting better every day"
Lakeland is a great course for the money. New owners took over is 2002 or so. Hard to remember because we don't play it regularly. They have added new features every year, trees, bridges, new tee boxes, etc.The front nine is fairly open, hard to get into too much trouble. Watch out for some water. We prefer the back nine. It's a little more hilly, still has some water. Nothing to worry about. Lakeland has the best drainage of any course we have ever seen. It is open unless there is snow on the ground. We have played this course in Feb., when a winter thaw and 50 degree days suprized us all. Just played in on Jan 3, 2004 when we has another winter warm spell. Jackson has lots and lots of great courses. No one would ever be disappointed taking a golfing holiday in Jackson, Michigan.

Kissimmee Oaks Golf Club
"enjoyable experience"
A course in excellent condition, sloping greens, onstar equipped carts. Significant amounts of water which is avoidable by duffers and pros alike, since it is marked and visible. Play on the day was about 4 hours even though course was busy. Starter and ranger assistance. Soda cart available. Highly recommended, particularly if you are at a resort that offers discounted access.

Wedgewood Golf Course
"Great"
This course is a great course for intermediate golfers. It can be long and narrow off the tee, but the bermuda greens are always kept in excellent condition. I would recommend this golf couse to golfers of every handicap.

Wasco Valley Rose Champions Golf Club
"great course"
For being a public course, Wasco Valley Rose golf club is a good course to play. The fairways are covered in good grass which is something not found in most munis around town. While hardpan gives me a sense of confidence because it allows me to hit 360 off the tee it sucks having to hit your second from it. The grass around the green needs some work but overall is respectable. The real sweet spot of the course is its greens. The greens are some of the best I have played on. They do not look quite as uniform or prestine as a high dollar private C.C., but they always run true and hold. The county courses in Kern County in comparison have the worst greens I have ever seen. After playing a round at North Kern in bakersfield you appreciate just how good the greens are at wasco. Simply put Wasco Valley Rose golf course is a great place to play for the beginner to skilled player.
