This resort, which was named by "GOLF Magazine" to its 1998 list of "Silver Medal Resorts," has three nine hole courses that are played in three eighteen hole combinations. The Canyon Course is considered the most difficult. The Ridge Course is the next hardest and then the Hill Course. These are typical desert-target courses, featuring many changes in elevation, plus elevated tee boxes and greens. "Golf Digest" rated the Ridge/Canyon course as the 8th "Best Public Course" in the state for 1996, and the 13th "Best in State" course for 1995-96. The resort was also listed among "Silver Medal Resorts" by "GOLF Magazine" in 1996. Only guests of the Westin Hotel and club members can play these courses. The La Paloma Golf Academy is located on premises, for information call (800) 876-3683. The ladies' tees on each of the combinations are also rated for men.

Tough Nicklaus course in beautiful resort setting, Feb 13, 2004

La Paloma golf course (any of the comibinations) is as tough a test of golf as you will ever have. If your game is not on, it will be a long, long day. Course condition is great and is set in one of the nicest resorts you will ever see. Amenities are first cabin all the way (enjoy a great lunch on the patio following your round). Staff is cordial and helpful. Forecaddies required of all groups help keep play moving and they truly earn their money. One of the nicest golfing experiences I have ever had the pleasure to enjoy -- if you can -- I urge you to play La Paloma.

Delray Dunes Golf & Country Club
"A South Florida gem"
This a great private golf course, with new TifSport fairways, TifEagle greens and new bunkering, all put in during the summer of 2002. Pete Dye's course is better than ever. The new gold (back) tees now play 6,616 yards with a 72.0/131 course and slope rating. This par 71 course is made up of narrow fairways, many tree-lined. Four par 4s exceed 400 yards with number 6 playing 442 yards and number 13 reaching 437 yards; tough holes by every standard. If you can find a member or locate a friend of a member, by all means make it a point to play this great South Florida golf course.

Mayfair Country Club
"Nastalgic Ross Course"
The Mayfair course brings us back to a time where the longest hitters on the PGA only drove the ball 250 yards. This means that for the majority of men today, you can play this course like the pro's play their championship 7200 yard courses. A good tee shot leaves you with a 7 to 9 iron approach. The signiture Donald Ross Turtle back greens are high and sloped and need to be navagated with thought. The open fairways mean that for the average golfer that is in the fringe or ruff you can still play on without haveing to take too many penality strokes like you do on some narrow house lined courses. In short, this course is beautiful with its tree lined fairways and a good challenge for the average golfer. If money value for course were a catagory this would be a five star.

Midlakes Club
"Outstanding lake views"
Midlakes was a joy to play, the expansive views of Skaneateles Lake were unlike any I have seen in this area of New York. Fairways were lush, lots of tee choices, but a bit short. Still was challenging though for us average golfers. 5 stars for the scenery, 3-4 for the rest.

Jamestown Golf Course
"Great course!"
It's the oldest golf course in the country, but still a great course! Wide rolling hill fairways give it the feel of an old fashioned course. Terrific views and every hole has a challenge!
