Southwest of St. Louis, Birch Creek Golf Club is a par 72, 18-hole championship track measuring 6,913 yards from the tips. Open June 2001, designer/owner/head pro Randy Wolff, has varied the terrain on this traditional parkland course. While a few of the holes are open and have a "linksy" feel, the rolling fairways are generally tree-lined. The moderate speed greens average 6,500 square feet, and are not severely sloped or undulated. Combined with 4 sets of tees, these elements make Birch Creek accessible to golfers of all handicaps.

"Hidden jewel"
This course is in the middle of the upper peninsula of Michigan. It is simply the best course I ever played for the money. Quick and true greens were very well maintained (How did they attract such a talented Superintendent). Very challenging holes that do not duplicate themselves. Laid back atmosphere--no pressures!

Prairie View Golf Course
"Saving grace is practice range"
This is only a par 35 I believe. Only one challenging hole, and that is #9 where you must stay between both ponds. The rest is open, and pretty easy. It does seem to play longer then you would expect for a par 35. It is pretty plain jane, the trees are still young and small, not much shade offered in the heat of the day, and not alot of plantings or flower beds etc. Plenty of carts available, and pull carts.

"enjoyable experience"
A course in excellent condition, sloping greens, onstar equipped carts. Significant amounts of water which is avoidable by duffers and pros alike, since it is marked and visible. Play on the day was about 4 hours even though course was busy. Starter and ranger assistance. Soda cart available. Highly recommended, particularly if you are at a resort that offers discounted access.
