This executive course is very hilly, so come prepared for some extra exercise, as well as a few uneven lies. The greens are fast year-round and relatively flat. The fairways are wide open with very few trees standing in the way of the greens. The signature hole is #7, a 331-yard, par 4, which has a slight dogleg left fairway. Water hazards come into play on thirteen holes.

| The course might be short but very challenging with it's various elevation changes, and narrow fairways. All 18 holes are well maintained especially the greens. You don't need all your clubs but your club selection will determine success or failure on this course. This is a great course for beginners, intermediate, and better golfers. An excellent course to work on your iron play and course management, any errant shots not in the fairways you can pay a hefty price. If you are more concerned about smart play, accuracy, and roll your putts in, you will score very well. There are plenty of opportunities to air it out with a driver or fairway wood; holes 1,3,5,7,13,16,17,18. This course may be short but it isn't any push over. Many guest have shown up salivating at the short course assuming low scores and when the day is over and putting their clubs back in their cars, the have a greater respect and drive away humbled. The shop is well stocked; latest fashions and equipment, the personnel very knowledgeable, freindly and Jim McCormick an excellent pro, offers good common sense instruction to lower your scores and improve your game. McCall also offers excellent practice facilities; driving range, bunker play, chipping-short game play, and nice practice green for putting. McCall offers excellent value for your money. The club members are also very personable. |
