There is enough variety of terrain to challenge the most experienced golfer. The fairways are tree lined, and water hazards come into play on several different occasions. The signature hole is #4, a 218-yard, par 3, requiring an accurate tee shot to a small, well-bunkered green. Tee times are only reserved for weekends and holidays.

Course in very good shape, Sep 27, 2007

I am not the most experienced of golfers, but have played some pretty decent public and private courses, and Valparaiso Country Club is a great mature course. Tree lined fairways will challenge how straight your drive is and the greens are in very good shape. They have been putting money into course improvements lately, and it shows, fresh landscaping around some holes and newly topped cart paths in areas.

A short coarse (~5,800 yards), built in 1922. Old school coarse; narrow wooded fairways, small fast (but true) greens with most holes in a north-south layout. Very, very nice coarse, maitneance is excellant, greens are the best in the area, the layout is challenging.

Twin Hills Golf Course
"Short and well maintained"
Twin Hills is a short course - 6000 yards according to the card, and even that might be a stretch. The game starts on the greens here; they are among the most difficult in the area because of the undulations. The best holes are the par 3s. The facilities are barebones - no proshop, small and dated clubhouse. No frills golf, but they seem to have course maintenance down to a science.

"Golf Heaven"
This wonderful Tom Fazio design offers a truly great experience. It can only be played with a member. Don't worry about a starting time or slow play, the members are rare. I've been told that if you can find a weed in any fairway, they will give you a membership! ($175,000/player plus dues) Every hole has it's own personality and most (10) involve water. A desert design that requires accuracy off the tee, and a back nine into an old quarry up in the mountains, the course is very challenging, but has incredible views of Indio (All putts break that way.) Chances are that you won't get the opportunity to play this track, but if you do, don't miss it!
