the greens don't break, Jul 13, 2006
reviewer: derek from usa
I've been playing here for 10 years and par is a great, hard score. stay out of the rough and the puts seldom break outside the cup. if they do break it's usually away from the northside hill and towards rose ave.

Penmar - Tough but good course for beginners, Feb 16, 2005
reviewer: Henry Cuevas from Inglewood, CA
A solid course to play for beginners. If you've been playing par 3 courses for a while, this is where you want to play when you're ready to go to the next level. The 1st hole is a short par 4 with a wide fairway. The 2nd hole is longer and narrow. A little more challenging because a hook or slice could end up on Rose Avenue. The par 4 7th is the only hole that may be tough to reach in 2 for beginners. However, if your a straight shooter, you can make up it on the par 3's (all reachable). Many mature trees and sand traps make this course a nice challenge for beginners or a hacker trying to improve his short game.

Nice 9 Hole Course, Jun 23, 2004
reviewer: Ted from Mar Vista, CA
More challenging than I had anticipated. I believe there were 6 par 4's (one over 400 yards) and 3 par 3's. Definitely not a pitch and putt. We were paired with two other golfers who were above average, and the course in general seemed to have solid players. Did not hear one "fore" all round. Would rather have played in the afternoon, after the sun had come out, because the course was very very wet. I also kind of felt like they hadn't mowed in two weeks. Pretty shaggy. All in all, though, great little 9 hole course for $12. I will definitely go again.

Fun practice, May 17, 2004

Good course for iron shots but greens are sometimes as long as the fairways. Cheap price, 12 bucks for a round. No practice facility other than nets and small chipping/putting greens.

good 9 holes, Feb 16, 2004
reviewer: andrew from venice, ca
Nice short track -- greens are always in good shape w/decent fairways. Other than the 5somes at peak hours, I'd take this any day over a few hours at the range
