This challenging course was built on predominantly flat terrain. The fairways are narrow and tree lined. Water hazards come into play on four holes, and sand bunkers come into play throughout the design. The greens are fairly small, flat and fairly fast. There is an additional set of tees that can be used when playing an eighteen hole round.

I've played Vernonia about 8 times and have a great time each time I do. It's never crowded (even on a warm summer weekend), it's in-expensive ($25 for 18) and is both challenging (small greens, some tight fairwasy) and lot's of fun with diverse holes from the front nine to the back nine. It's an easy 30-45 drive from Portland or Beaverton and you can play a 4-4.5 hour round of 18.

I love playing at Vernonia. You can take your time and thouroughly enjoy your golfing experience. On a clear day, the scenery is great with wildflowers and rolling hills. Definitely worth the drive.

This course is a fun and challenging course. I gave it 4 stars because no course is perfect. The only problem with this course is there is a lot of trees which means there are usually a lot of leaves on the ground, especially in the fall. You also have to think about the trees themselfs, because no matter what everybody tells you, trees are NOT 90% air.

The Twin Lakes Golf Course is an 18 hole par 70 course with tree lined fairways and bentgrass greens. This is a semi-private course opeerated by its over 350 members. The course is open to the public on a daily fee basis. Visitors to the Twin Lakes area find this challenging course a delight. The information provided about this site on golfable.com is dated.
