This course is well maintained, the pro shop is terrific, the pro is very good, and the people are very friendly. After you finish WHCC make sure you stop at the bar or club.!!!!!

Woodford Hills, May 21, 2004
reviewer: Jack Smarr from Versailles, Kentucky
Woodford Hills is a nice little course set in the rolling hills of the Bluegrass. I have been told that if you can play this course well, you will have no trouble playing any of the major courses in the country. The greens are small with about half of them sloping. The sand traps are not exactly like the kind you find in the Carolinas. Kentucky sand is hard. During certain times of the year the traps play more like cement. I have had balls hit the sand and bounce onto the green. Woodford Hills has planted the new zoysha grass (spelling?) which makes the fairways bouncier. None of the holes are very long and you can get away with teeing off with a three wood if you like. The club is in a beautiful setting surrounded by horse country. On the fourth hole, it is not uncommon to slice your ball over to a herd of thoroughbreds. I totally enjoy this course.

Nice place for average golfer, May 18, 2004

Relatively short course with sand around most greens. Some really nice looking holes to play over water (number 13). Nice experience for an average golfer.
