This course reopened in August, 1996 after it was closed for several months so that the community could have lakes and canals built into the design in order to help with its water flow. The layout of the course was not affected, but the scenery has been upgraded. Resident green fees are also available.

Wide Open Spaces, Sep 14, 2004

reviewer: The Shark from virginia beach

This course is wide open so is high handicap friendly. But do not confuse this for easy, as dog legs and strategic bunkers call for a controlled game plan. Greens are in good shape, fairways as well for the number of rounds played here. Staff is always friendly and you can't beat the price.

This course is a duffers dream. The starters could care less and don't watch what goes on. Your a pay customer and they don't care what you say, do, or look like. Their is no dress code or equipment restrictions. The course is not difficult to play except for the poor conditions. Water is every where and comes into play at almost every hole. I wouldn't play this back yard agian or recommend it to anyone.

A very open course. Well managed with some challenging doglegs. The Staff is very friendly and the course is marshalled. Best prices in Tidewater for public Golf. The Greens are well kept and the fairways are in average shape for this time of year.

Highland Springs Golf Course
"Great couse."
This course is a great example of Ozark Mountain terrain. Flawless greens, oceans of water, and large greenside and fairway bunkers make this golf course a 5 star course. The layout is a bit easier than your traditional 5 star PGA Tour Championship courses. The Nike/Buy.com/whatever its name is this year tour uses this course each year for one of its tournaments and the players always remark on quality maintenance.

"I love Riverside"
Riverside is my favorite of all courses that I have golfed. Golf is a laid back and fun pastime. I fell in love with the game at Riverside. If you are in the neighborhood you should definately play a round.

Riverview Golf Course
"Best 9 holes around"
Riverview is the perfect practice course when you don't have time for 18. It's long enough to be interesting and offers enough challenges to allow practice on all aspects of your game. The course has good greens, challenging sand traps and water hazards you can't see--until its too late. Its also fun to play.

Meadow Woods Golf Club
"Meadow Woods"
Meadow Woods is a nice course, althought not the best I have ever played on. The fairways are narrow due to the fact that it is located in a small neighborhood. The Par 4 13th should be pretty much played as a par 5 unless you can hit the long ball really well, or like to loose some balls. The fairways were also pretty dry as was the rest of the course. Fast greens make even the easy puts challenging.
