This is a Robert Trent Jones Sr. designed course. The fairways are tree lined, and the greens are large. Water hazards come into play on four holes. The signature hole is #13, a 540-yard, par 5, requiring a shot over a lake.

If you are looking for a relaxing and enjoyable round of golf, then Stumpy Lake is not for you. The course itself is mediocre at best, but the reason that I will never return is that the staff is extremely rude towards non-regulars. My foursome was continually badgered by the marshall (four times by the 7th) for a variety of reason. Before Stmpy Lake, I have never voluntarily walked off of a golf course before the end of my round, I demanded a refund because of the marshall after the 7th hole.

Stumpy Lake is not the place to play following a couple days of rain as the course just does not drain well. Most fairways are open, greens receptive and layout is varried and offers a challenge to all levels of golfers. Rough on some holes is extream while many others bring water into play either directly or as a boundry. Staff is friendly and concessions adequate. City may consider spending some money on the club house as it seems about as 60ish as and old pair of bell bottoms.

This is an excellent course for newer golfers and old alike. Nice and open and Tiger himself couldn't hit a house or condo if he wanted to because there are none anywhere near it! Played Stumpy a week ago and the course is in the best shape I've seen it in years!
