This resort, which was named by "GOLF Magazine" to its 1998 list of "Silver Medal Resorts," has two regulation eighteen hole courses. These two courses are set among lava fields and alongside the ocean. The Beach Course is more of a resort course because of its narrow fairways. The Kings' Course is more of links-style design because it features deep sand bunkers. A LPGA tournament was held here in 1992. This course has received some rave reviews including "Golf Digest's" ranking as one of the best new courses in America, and most recently as the 14th "Best in State" course for 1995. The green fees are less if you stay at the resort. The phone number for the Kings pro shop is (808) 886-7888. The Waikoloa Golf Academy is located on the premises. Daily one-hour clinics, private lessons and one and three-day schools are offered.

Oasis Golf Club - Oasis Course
"Not good any more."
The descripion of this course is 5 to 6 years outdated. It is not connected with the Oasis casino or the Palms golf course. Several of the holes have been changed to allow for more housing. The greens are one notch above sand greens. If you pay more than $50.00 to play it you paid too much.

This golf course is sneaky long, but it is made difficult because the greens won't hold a shot longer than a nine iron, the greens are too small and there is very little space on either side of most of the greens to make a chip shot. This course is much poorer than several public layouts and the membership is both expensive and poorly managed.

"Challenge"
The fairways here are nice, the greens protect the course and make it extraordinarily challenging. It doesn't play long but you have to be a good iron player to shoot anywhere in the 70's.
