I have played this course many times over the last 10 years and this is the best shape it has ever been in. For the money, one of the best deals in metro Atlanta. Still could use some fairway work on a couple of holes but much improved overall. A course with some tough holes but overall fun to play. Beautiful scenery.

Course in very good shape at the present time. Greens rolled very well and fairways were very lush. They have really come along way in getting this course back into shape. Good mountain layout with a good collection of very good holes.

Best for the money, Jun 21, 2004 |

I've played courses that cost two or three times as much and were no where near as enjoyable. Lake arrowhead offers a great combination of entertaining holes with scenic views. Many holes are long with elevated greens that make you truly gauge the distance. All in all this is a great course and I will be back. P.S. The driving range is small and you hit into a large hill. Only complaint.

I recently played Lake Arrowhead in Waleska, GA. The greens fees were very reasonable for mid-week ($30), but that was probably the high point. The gas powered carts were very poorly maintained, as well as extremely loud. However, to their credit, after playing 3-4 holes through the mountains, I came to realize why electric carts were not used - not enough power. All in all, the course is not very well maintained, although playing in early April could have something to do with it. The fairways are very narrow, with extremely fast greens. There are several very scenic holes, which meander though the mountains and along the 540 acre lake. The bermuda fairways were in decent shape, but could have been better irrigated and cut more consistently. All in all, not a bad course to play once for the money. However, I don't plan on being a repeat visitor.
