This course has well-manicured greens and fairways. The greens are small and difficult to read. There is a creek that comes into play on eight holes. On hole #16, a 396-yard, par 4, the creek crosses just in front of the well-bunkered green. Frank James designed the back nine, which was added in 1947, Robert Muir Graves redesigned the entire course in 1980, and John Steidel redesigned five holes in 1987. Each of the tees are rated for both men and ladies.

Outstanding Golf!, May 27, 2005

Challenging long and short holes. Greens are in exceptional shape with frequent changes of pin placement to afford different approaches and challenging reevaluations each time you play. The course roughs are excellent motivation to keep your ball in the fairway but even beginners can struggle back from the roughs without too much damage. The membership is exceptionally consciencious about sanding and seeding divots and repairing ball marks on the greens. The 19th hole and restaurant are welcoming and provide an exceptional quality. The course affords challening play whether you are a struggling beginner or experienced long ball hitter! Play on!!

Sleepy Hollow Country Club - Eighteen Hole Course
"High Quality Private Club"
As a Brit abroad, I was lucky enough to receive a couple of invitations to play here. The whole experience was outstanding, from the service at the club to the course itself. The clubhouse is one of the more impressive around (probably only improved upon by my home course in the UK!). The track itself was in excellent condition and, as with other Tillinghast courses, was a good strategic challenge, although not as 'man-sized' as say Winged Foot West and Bethpage Black. More playable for someone of my ability and therefore perhaps as enjoyable.

"Basic golf outing"
In Bullhead City, the wind usually blows hard. This course is short, albeit somewhat challenging, because of the conditions played in. The fairways are unremarkable, the greens putt mostly true, although is tough to read. Usually putt the straight line and on the hard side to get them in. You won't need driver too often. Better than a kick in the head, but not the best golf around. Good practice.

Nice Club! Clean, well-run, and good coarse layout! I've played here since the 60's, and allthough it's changed hands, it's still the one I prefer in Hauppauge. .........who's the (enterprising)young man selling "Refreshments" thru the gate at merrivale drive? - We allways get a kick outta him, - nice kid!
