This course, which was rated by a local publication as the 3rd most difficult course in the state, added a new back nine 1999 to increase the facility's total to eighteen holes. Wetlands come into play on four of the new nine holes. Also new is an island green on hole #12, a 167-yard, par 3, which has a slightly elevated tee.

good public course, Jul 11, 2005

reviewer: beginner/intermediate golfer from wallingford

not to bad if you want to just go out and have a good time with your buddies. though rather tough, kids around 11 and up can also play. very welcoming staff, but can be a little price, esp. in the proshop.

North Shore Country Club
"Great Bay Side Holes, and Tough"
Play this in the wind and you'll find your handicap is a little too low. Northshore is a wonderful course with great bay views on the 4 bayside holes. And Don't miss the gator on hole 12, the cormorants on number 3, or all the other birds during the migratory months. In winter the rye overseed makes Northshore one of the best courses in all of South Texas.

"Challenging but Fair"
If you play the course right you will have to use every club in your bag. Variety of holes, no two are alike. Trees, bunkers, water, doglegs and hills, this course has it all. Beginners with a wild driver will have some trouble but will not have to hit over obstacles except for two greens surrounded by water. Staff is great and course is getting in better shape each year.
