This scenic course provides a spectacular view of the Dan River. The greens are undulating, and the fairways are tree lined. There is water that comes into play on six holes, including #16, a 559-yard, par 5, which has the river running down the left side for the first 200 yards, and a creek that takes a bite out of the fairway a little further ahead.

A must play, Nov 24, 2004

The scenery is nothing less than spectacular, the river winds through the course like an old man winding through his garden. The greens are super fast and you must put it on to have a chance for par. Bring your short game and leave the big stick in the bag for a rest.

Boy they have a lot of short dog leg par 4s but the course is in very good shape. And the scenery is just perfect. The prices are very reasonable.

I must say that I had heard that this was a nice course, but had not had the chance to golf here until just recently. I was pleasently surprised! Everything is well cared for, and the course provides the average golfer with some surprising twists and turns. Go out of your way, and give Hemlock a chance.

The course is decent in upkeep, not the greatest greens but a nice and challenging course at times with greens protected by bunkers in touch positions. Course management is a little on the off side, they have no control over how many are on the course, and will load it up way past capacity, as well as never using any marshalling to speed up play. This course is fairly tight with large greens that are exquisite. They roll very well and are extremely undulating....making for putting challenges. Even though the length is about 6200 yds from the back tees, it plays a lot longer than that due to the hills, large greens, and abundant sand.
