Quiet and cghallenging, Jun 02, 2004
reviewer: M Parsons from Wapello, Iowa
This course is in great shape this year. (2004) It is pretty wide open on the front nine and very challenging on the back nine. The new nine holes were just opened in the summer of 2002 and are just now becoming mature. The fairways are watered on the new nine holes and the greens vary from fast to undulating. The newer greens are all made to USGA specifications. The sand traps have were just redone last fall and are raked daily. This is a great course set in a country setting. Anyone wanting to enjoy a quiet, relaxing day of golf would surely enjoy this course. It is inexpensive and has some great rate specials this year. You can golf for as low as $10.00 a round without cart. It is worth a trip to Southeast Iowa to experience this course. This course has a cliff hole, an uphill hole , many target holes, a water hole, and a variety of challenging, but negotiable holes. I am sure you will enjoy this course.

Tough course to rate, Apr 13, 2004
reviewer: Burt Lappe from Bloomington IL
Love the greens on this course...fast, smooth, and hold very well. But the overall course shape is very bad...fairways are not watered in the summer leaving basically cement, tee boxes are not well taken care of. Limted sand traps and the sand they do have is never raked. They added a back 9 about 5 years ago. They are very difficult holes that are fun to play if the course is in good shape...which is hardly ever.
