| I love escaping the city life by golfing at Snag Creek. It is a peaceful golf course that offers plenty of challenges so I can feel great when I make a few pars. The service is always friendly and the hot dogs are a must!

Can't beat Snag Creek, Apr 02, 2008

| For the last six summers I have returned to Pekin, where I was born. I now live in San Diego, but love coming back. I was introduced to Snag Creek, by a good friend, who plays there each Sunday. This course owns me. Being an average golfer (low 90,high 80's) I have only cracked a 100 once on this course. I find the greens very tuff, getting the ball to bite. The par 3s our not easy as well. The water and tree's add to my problems. Their are many more tree's here than I run into back home. But I must say I like this course and look forward to playing it each year. I will try again this summer to remove the ownership this course has over me. I would recommend it to others and the price is right. |

Nice Rural Course, Sep 15, 2004

| After visiting a friend in Peoria, I asked if there was a course I could play on my way back to Chicago. His response was; "try Snag Creek, it's a nice course, not great but nice." Very true. The course is not terribly long, but does have some long par 4's and interesting par 5's. You arrive driving on a road with cornfields on both sides. Needless to say, I was a bit concerned, thinking that it was going to be a flat farm field dogtrack. I was pleasantly surprized to find some elevation changes and (dare I say) water. Yep, Snag Creek actually winds its way throughout the course and it does come into play. Number 7 is a very short par 5 that demands absolute accuracy on not only your drive, but second shot and approach as well. I used 3 wood off the tee and was lucky enough to be in good position for my next shot. This is a bargain of a golf course ($9.00 for 9 holes, $13.00 for 18; walking). Is it up there with Cog Hill? Certainly not, but the cart will cost you more at Cog. |
