This course is situated in a valley and features gently rolling terrain. The fairways mimic the landscape and vary in width. Local golfers say this course has "the nicest greens around," due to excellent maintenance and consistency of play. Hole #6, a 414-yard, par 4, features a sloped fairway that is guarded by a hall of trees, which creates a blind tee shot. The facility has a custom club maker on the premises.

| Mound Grove is no 5-star course. The greens are bumpy, the tee boxes are not kept up and the pace of play is frustratingly slow. I played the front 9 when it first opened, and it hasn't improved at all with age. It is a difficult course, especially 4,5,6 and the entire back 9, which was wedged into a tight fit. No. 5 is a narrow, severe dogleg right where you must hit an iron if you hit the ball well at all. Mound Grove would be a 3-star course if it was kept in better condition and the pace of pay was a bit quicker. It has taken me three hours to play the front nine! |

| Great place to golf. Challenging fairways. In a beautiful country setting. Tons of history. |
