This course is lined with trees and overlooks the city of Boston. The greens on this course are small and fast, and the fairways are average-sized. Sand bunkers are spread throughout the entire course and water hazards come into play on many holes. The course's signature hole is #15, a 158-yard, par 3, requiring a tee shot over a pond to a small green. The terrain on this course is hilly, and there are many spectacular views available.

| Low handicaps beware, this Donald Ross masterpiece cannot be judged from the 6000 yd scorecard. Greens from hell! my parner exclained, and the member in our 4some just laughed. Lots of local knowledge needed. Similar to its cousin, Pinehurst No 2, fast grees protected by bunkers. Good short game a must. Layout is purported to be unchanged since Ross left in 1910... the old Scott's 1st design in the US shows his signiture mid fairway bunkers and "ladies assist "ramp" in front of most greens. Its a short track, but you use everything in your bag. Pins only visible on 6 holes! |

| When I first saw this course, I thaught it was subpar. But from the first tee, to the view of boston on the ninth, the water on fifteen, or the beautiful clubhouse, I couldn't be more wrong. This is a challenging, hilly course that all will love. |
