This beautiful course is located in the countryside. The small greens are fast, and the narrow fairways are tree lined. Water hazards come into play on six holes, plus sand bunkers are spread throughout the course. The feature hole is #18, a short, downhill 280-yard, par 4, which has a lake guarding the entire front of the green, making for a tough approach. This hole also provides a view of the course's unique old-style clubhouse. The course opened as a nine hole design in 1963, then expanded to eighteen holes in 1968. The City of Watsonville plans to convert this to a municipal course in the future.

Overpriced Cow Pasture, Oct 19, 2009 |

| I wonder if the owners of this place are even serious about golf? The course features crabgrass tee boxes in such bad condition you can't even find a level lie, pasture fairways and greens that are just average in condition but many are so small they are completely unfair. Especially considering the crazy sight-lines and layout. I hadn't played here in years because I had decided it wasn't worth it but ventured back this last weekend only to discover it's worse than ever. And the $45 they charged is robbery considering the course and the people playing it. We were stuck behind a fivesome that was a full two holes behind and couldn't have cared less. And no sign of a marshall to enforce pace of play. There has NEVER been any sign of a marshall on this course, as the people behind us were quick to remind. My impression is it's a cow farm track for the locals who live out here in the sticks, have memberships and spend most of their time drinking in the "clubhouse" .. and I use the term Clubhouse very loosely. I used to play courses like this in the boondocks in Virginia, North Carolina, etc., and we'd play for $13 .. maybe. Save your money, you can do a LOT better for what they think they can charge here. And they provide NOTHING in return. |

| This is not a good course value-wise. Green fees should be around $25 for 18 on weekends compared to other courses in the area. For the dollar, there are too many other courses that are far better values. |

Short tight course, Nov 20, 2007 |

| The greens here are in great condition (very small), but you can get some crummy fairway lies on the back nine. The first two holes are pretty tough back-to-back par fours. This is a traget course on the front nine, particularly holes #3,#4, and #5. Two of the par fives (#6 and #17) are reachable in two for the big hitters. The par 4 twelfth hole is not very playable. There is OB left and right with trees guarding the left. The fairway slopes severely left to right towards the ravine that is OB after about 170 yds. In the summertime this fairway won't hold a brick! I've hit some nice straight three woods off the tee only to never find my ball. You either have to lay up to 175 yds. out or try and get a few more yards by sneaking it along the sliver of the fairway along the left side, but don't get too close because you'll be OB on the adjacent hole to the left. Don't be above the hole on the green. You can miss a 4 footer from above the hole and have it run 15 to 20 feet by. Good luck on this hole, you'll need it! |

Local Flavor Shorter Course, Sep 04, 2007 |

| Spring Hills golf course has a very down home feeling coming from the staff and the smallish club house. The course has a rural setting away from homes and noise. The best views are had from the elevated back nine. However beware of number four, very narrow hole and number eight, the green is treacherous. There are three elevated tees. Also the price for what you get is about the best in Sonoma County. Enjoy. |

| The one thing I miss most about moving to Arizona is Spring Hills. I always feel at home there. You'll never have a bad time there. (No guarantee on your scores however!) |

| I know a lot of people who don't like this course but I rather enjoy it. It's a very challenging shotmakers course. You have to shape your shots a lot of different ways to shoot a good score here. The greens are very good. |

Nice Little Course, Jul 05, 2006 |

| The course was short but challenging. First time played and would return many times over. Challenging tight fairways, small greens, premium on hitting drives straight. Very nice staff. Played with locals that knew the course, very helpful to stay out of trouble. Great weather, early morning fog then losts of sunshine. Very affordalbe. |
