Lower Michigan Bargain, Aug 27, 2009

Very scenic course especially for lower Michigan. It is also kept in one of the finest playing condition for the price in southern Michigan. Not a long ball hitters paradise and enough water to steal some balls from the "not so accurate" players. Stand in the middle of #8's green and spin 360 degrees and you will wonder how this place is such a secret. If there was only a way to add 300 yards of play and a driving range this place would be one of Michigan's top rated.

Short but need to be accurate. Even though distance is not a factor, this course is target golf at its best!!! With a few more bunkers throughout it could be a good test of the irons.

This isn't the longest golf course in the world but the mature trees make shot making skills essential. The fairways have narrowed over the years and being able to hit it straight is essential. This is a great golf course for a casual round of low stress golf. Great for kids,good players, beginner players and wives. Heck, I met my wife there.

"It's Fun"
The course is OK. I've played it about 10 times and they need to get the front 9 in. If they got the front 9 in I think it would me a lot more fun.

A tremendous couse in a beautiful mountain setting, especially in September and October when in full fall foliage, the afternoon temperatures in the low 70's and the skies so blue the horizon lines become razor sharp. The back nine challange you with mountain streams, blind doglegs, an occasional buck jumping from a creek bed and or lofty tee boxes daring you to choose a loftier iron for dropping it between the aspens and the traps.... Not too many courses in the world offer better views, thinner air for longer drives, or nicer people to pamper your needs. July through mid October is prime... take plenty of time and the closest of friends, I guarantee you a memorable experiance and a challanging round!

Mountain Valley Golf Course - Maple/Oak Course
"hidden gem"
Course was originally 18 but 9 new holes were added in the last few years. The three nines, oak, pine, and maple are all challenging with tight tree lined fairways with generous sized greens with a fair bit of undulation. Huge elevation changes on some holes offer great views of the surrounding PA countryside. Although not the longest course, although some holes are quite long it is easily the most difficult in the region due to the tightness and difficult putting greens. The greens are always in great condition so the difficulty I have with putting is assuredly not the course, It's all mine. Great value too, and a friendly and helpful staff makes these three nine hole courses a must when in the area.
