Intersting how someone can write a positive review for a course in 2004, when the course has been closed since 2002 and was in deplorable condition for several years before that.

After living in sunny south Florida for the past 12 years,it was refreshing playing a course that actually had some real nature to offer.Dont get me wrong,I think it was fascinating to watch a team of landscaping architects build a course in a month and make it look 20 years old.The Binks Forest was a real treat to play.I particularly enjoyed the challenging tree-lined fairways and sloping greens.From my residence in Ft. Lauderdale,I had about a 50 minute drive north and it was worth the ride.We played Binks once a month for about 4 years.I recommend this course to anyone visiting the South Florida area.

"Worth the trip"
This course is easily the best course I have played. It's on a par with Blackwolf Run and the other Kohler courses at a fraction of the price. This course has a spectacular setting. It winds up and around Iron Mountain, and is a marvel of course design. Despite the elevation changes, only one hole plays uphill. The holes are cut out of the mountain side and winding cart paths take you to the next level, and hole, until you reach numbers 9 and 17, both of which play straight downhill (as does 18, a 600 yard par five with 3 terraced fairways). The grooming is immaculate and each hole is separated from the others by woods or water. Even on a busy day it feels like you're the only golfers on the course. The staff is friendly and efficient and the course is nicely rangered. As you play the course, you will marvel both at the quality of the experience and the incredible engineering required during construction. Rates have been in the $50-60 range for the past several years and its the best golf bargain you can find. This is a course you could play every day and it would remain interesting. The fairways and greens compare with any PGA site. This is one not to miss.

"Classic Donald Ross"
This course is short in yardage (6200), but plays much longer. One reason is that there are only 2 par 5's on a par 70 track. The par 3's are classic Ross. 3 of the 4 can play over 190 yards to postage stamp greens. There are a lot of down and up style par 4's, but there is also variety. Holes 10,11 and 18 are good examples of tough, well thought out par 4's that demand accuracy and thought. A four is an excellent score on all of these holes. The course is generally in excellent condition and has undergone some minor renovations. You will notice that the greens are exceptionally small, even for a Ross course. Greens are properly protected with bunkers and have just the right amount of undulation. One designer has stated that these are the smallest greens he has ever seen on a Ross course (which may be its claim of distinction among the many Ross courses). There is a premium on iron play and short game. Greens are quick, but not penal. Everyone thinks they can bring this course to its knees, but it usually is the other way around. The course can frustrate you if you expect too much too easily. This is what makes it such a wonderful place to experience the brilliance of Donald Ross. "Good greens"
The corse isn't extreamly long, but can pose a challenge from the back tees, especially for the mid-long hitters. It is well manicured, and the greens have a smooth, consistant roll.

"Great old classic"
Classic course. Elevation changes make the course play longer than the yardage. Fast smooth greens can be treacherous. A nice variety of shots is required.
