This plush course was built upon a bog, so shots land soft on the greens and only provide a little roll on the fairways. The fairway rough is quite long and can be a problem. The course is flat, but the tall trees lining the fairways can alter your shots. Guests must be accompanied by a member in order to play this course.

There are two courses(Arthur Hills-Honors Course) and Jerry Matthews'(Champ. course)Bring a bunch of golf balls for the Honors course,also it is target golf. Once a year is enough for me.

Lufkin Country Club
"Very fun, and inexpensive."
This course is a very well kept secret in the old part of Lufkin, Texas. Not your upper tier type course but cheap for the quality. Fairways are very plush with just a very few spots that need work. And the greens, oh wow, possibly the best greens in the Lufkin-Nacogdoches area (including Crown Colony). It has the very challenging holes that you need to play cautious golf, and then it has the type of holes that you can attack with everything you have. When you finish this course, you will definately want to come back for more.
