This serene course is teeming with wildlife. The greens are somewhat small and flat, and the fairways are deceiving because you can go out-of-bounds quite easily. The back nine is very hilly compared to the front nine. In addition, water hazards come into play on three holes. "Golf Digest" rated this course as the 7th "Best Public Course" in the state for 1996.

Very nice public course. Front nine is quite flat and easy however the back nine will challenge your game.

"nice track!"
I've had the pleasure of playing this course many times and i never get sick of it. It is one of the most enjoyable lay-outs i have ever played. It is tough but fair and has a number of very memorable holes. Of particular note are numbers 7,10,11 and 12. Don't skip this one you won't be disappointed.

I am 10 years old and this is the course I use to get ready for big tournaments. I play all over the US. It is very fun and challanging with water around almost every hole. The greens are in good shape and I have to really play good shots to shoot a good score (no duffing or slicing).

Fincastle Country Club
"Wonderful course for rural Virginia"
This course has very fast greens with beautiful surroundings. I highly recommend anyone in the area or staying with a member to play a round. A few holes are difficult to play due to their close proximity to roads, but other portions of the course are deep into the mountains. A thrill for any golfer describes Fincastle. Also, the staff is very helpful: they will work with you in any way possible!
