This course features level terrain, with water coming into play on only two holes. The front nine offers wide fairways, however, play is tighter on the back nine. The signature hole is #15, a 164-yard, par 3, surrounded by tall pines. The landing area narrows as it approaches the green.

Can be a low scoring fun course, Jun 12, 2006

You can shoot some pretty low scores here, so if you want to get out and play and boost your ego and not be too worried about comparing it to a country club, go and have fun. Play not recommended in rainy season.

I like to "practice" my golf game at Sandelie. It's usually not that crowded, long enough to use all my clubs, and fairly inexpensive. It would not be considered a lush course by any standards, but the grass is kept mowed and the greens are adequate. It has some fun holes too. It's not a difficult course - so tee up a second and get in some great practice.

Riverview Golf Course
"Best 9 holes around"
Riverview is the perfect practice course when you don't have time for 18. It's long enough to be interesting and offers enough challenges to allow practice on all aspects of your game. The course has good greens, challenging sand traps and water hazards you can't see--until its too late. Its also fun to play.

This is a great layout with some long par 3's. The fairways are wide but trees line many holes and you must be in position in the fairway to get a shot at the small greens. Speed of the greens is medium-fast. Greens and Tee boxes were in good shape but the bermuda fairways are dormant and not overseeded for the winter. Play is slower on Sunday's but everyone was friendly and helpful.

"Declining conditions"
Having played this course over the last ten years, I can't help but be dismayed by the declining conditions. It is a classic course that was consistently enjoyable until the last two years. In this time, the course condition, length of rounds and restaurant amenities have all gone downhill. I hope that they can turn this around because it is no longer worth the greens fee that they charge.

River Oaks Golf Course
"Great little par 3 course"
This is a fantastic par 3 course for the money. The top nine is all par 3 with a great chance to work on the irons and putts. Water is present but not a threat for a straight drive. The bottom starts with an awesome par 4 that tees off from the hill behind the clubhouse. Reachable with a driver and accuracy. More water on the bottom nine that could cause some lost balls if you are not on your game. Greens are more than fair. Not to fast but depending on weather can be faster than they look. No sand around the holes and hopefully that will change in the future. I use this course frequently for training as well as a quick round of golf without the hassel of a larger course. The driving range is very well kept and the price for a bucket is the cheapest in town that I know of. The practice green is fantastic and allows for many different approaches to a hole to be practiced. The pro shop stocks many items including a complete PING fitting area. Refeshments, including soft drinks, food, and beer are avaialable at a cost designed to leave you money to come back and play another day. This course is a proud sponser of youth golf as well as senior golf. Very family oriented.
