This course has elevated greens, rolling terrain and steep bunkers. The wide fairways lead to large greens that have sloping or tiered surfaces that are surrounded by deep bunkers requiring a lofted recovery. The newly-refurbished greens add speed and consistency to the short game. This course was rated by "Golf Digest" in 1990 as one of the top 50 courses in the United States. In addition, "Golf Digest" rated this course as the 49th best under the category of "America's Top 75 Affordable Courses" in their 1996 list of "America's Best Golf Courses Everyone Can Play." This course hosted PGA events in the 1950s and 1960s. Tee times must be reserved in person the night before.
