This unique course is best known for the wide variety of characteristics defining each and every hole. The course is easy to walk, and its fairways are tree lined. Water hazards (two huge ponds and a stream) come into play on four holes. The second hole plays alongside a large pond, and the same pond comes back into play on hole #3. Hole #4, a 137-yard, par 3, requires a tee shot over water to a well-bunkered green. The longest hole is #7, a 377-yard, par 4, requiring an approach over a stream to a well-bunkered green.

Excellent iron/short-game practice, Sep 20, 2006 |

| Twin Lakes is just a par-3 course, with one nominal par 4 ( the 200 yard 1st ), but most golfers will use almost every iron in their bag. Note that the description above is out-of-date, at least six years ago, #7 was re-configured, and shortened to a 175 yard par 3. There are bunkers or water protecting every green and many different challenges. Course is well-kept, but unfortunately over-run with geese, so watch your step. |

Short, but challenging, neighborhood nine., Sep 06, 2006 |

| Unlike most small nine-hole courses, the greens at Twin Lakes are well-protected and challenging. There are eight par 3s, and #1 is a par 4. #1 is only 200 yards, but men are not allowed to use woods, so it's a long iron between a net protecting the 2nd tee and a willow tree on the right. They recently, inexplicably, removed a second larger willow that covered the right edge of the green. #7 and 8 are 175 and 180 yards respectively, both with several traps in front and along the greens. 3 and 4 both require shots over water. 3 is just a wedge to a blind green, while 4 is a 140 yard carry over the central pond, to a diabolical green. 6 and 9 should be a wedge or nine, but both have bunkers you don't want to be in. 2 and 5 are 150 yards, protected by a pond short-right on 2, and traps on 5. Long is dead on 5, with the typical deep pin and green sloping to the front. Usually well-kept, and soft. Greens are rarely fast, and easy to hold. Sand is usually hard, but playable. A nice little par 3 to keep your iron play sharp. Plays quick during the week, but slows dramatically on weekends. |

| A great beginner's golf course. I highly recommend Twin Lakes for younger golfers because it is not so tough. It is also fun for better golfers and offers great practice for the short game. |
