Dog Track with tough layout, May 06, 2005

Right now it's definately a dog track. Rocks in the fairways made it almost unplayable mty last time out. The biggest problem with the course is the rates. You can play 9 holes at Indianhead for cheaper. It looks like they are trying to stick more money in the course, but it seems like THEY have no idea what they are doing because the rocks in the fairway should be the first thing you do. Some of the holes can play extremely difficult. One of the par 5s is only 450 yards long, but the landing area is so small you're better off hitting iron off the tee. Theis course has some potential, but no one will go back at the rates they are charging when Indianhead, a real course, is right down the road for a buck less.

"oddly challenging"
This is one of the hidden gems in Southern California. I live in the Palm Springs area and yet I travel the sixty miles to play this course on a fairly regular basis. The low green fees tell the tale about the course condition. It is not the awesomely green, delicately manicured track you get here in the desert, but the natural beauty and interesting design make it much more fun than the bulldozed beasts you see around here. Playing from the black tees will give the vast majority of players all the challenge they will want. You'll use about every club in your bag and scratch your head when you bogey that hole that looks so easy to birdie. If you ever travel to the Hemet area, give this course a go, you won't regret it.
