This municipal resort has three eighteen hole courses and an eighteen hole par 3 course. A new eighteen hole course designed by Arnold Palmer was completed in 2000.The highlight of this 1,500-acre complex, set near the Allegheny Plateau on the former summer estate of a wealthy industrialist, is the Speidel Course, a regulation eighteen hole design that can be very strenuous to walk. This course was the home of the West Virginia LPGA Classic for eleven consecutive years. The narrow fairways are tree lined, and the greens are medium in size and speed. There are water hazards coming into play on seven holes, and the terrain is hilly. The signature hole on the Speidel Course is #13, a 192-yard, par 3, requiring a tee shot over water. The Crispin Course is a regulation eighteen hole course. The fairways are wide, and the greens are medium in speed and size. Only one water hazard comes into play on this rolling to hilly course. The latest addition to the resort is the par 71 championship layout designed by Arnold Palmer. It ranges in distance of 6,800 yards from the tips to 4,200 yards from the forward tees and is designed to accommodate golfers on all handicaps. The Palmer Course's signature hole is #13, a downhill par 3 carrying over a lake, to a well bunkered narrow green. This facility also has a par 3 course. The scorecard for the Par 3 Course doesn't show handicaps for individual holes. Ladies tee off from the same set of tees as the men while playing the Par 3 Course. The telephone number for tee times is (800) 752-9436. The fees for rental carts for the Crispin Course are slightly lower than on the Speidel Course's. For resort guests, tee times are accepted up to 365 days in advance. Caddies are available from June 15 through August 1. There are two driving ranges, one located near the Par 3 Course that is open to the public, and one at the Speidel Course that may be used by the public with the pro's permission at which you must supply your own golf balls.

I played thia course, along with alot of other couses in college, and i will tell you this, Palmer is one of the toughest courses around. The way they set this course up in tiurnements, is unreal, but playing it is a joy. I would recommend this course for anyone

I played the Palmer Course two summers ago with three good friends. It was a real experience. I lost a good amount of balls maybe because two years ago I was not that good.I plan on playing it again this summer when the checks start rolling in. It does cost a lot to play there but worth all the good times and good laughs.

I played on the Palmer Course last summer and I absolutly loved it!. It was the first time I had played the course and was intimidated at first. The greens are perfect, the fairways are like carpet, and the rough is devastating. After the the first hole, I got the hang of the green speed and the firmness of the fairways. I turned in one of my best scores of the year that day with a 79. It was a wonderful experience and I cannot wait to do it several times this year.
