Great 9 hole., Jun 06, 2006

White Pine Golf Club is a great nine hole course. I have played here several times and have never had a bad expirence with the staff. It has 3 par 3's, 3 par 4's and 3 par 5's. It's a balanced test of your entire golf game. I think my favorite and least favorite hole is the par 3 5th. It plays 160 yards from the men's tees, over a pond the whole way, trees on either side, with a double tiered green. Absolutaly no room for error. The course is overall hilly, but there are a few of the holes that are flat. Water is in play on 5 of the 9 holes.

This 9 hole course is the one to stop at for a pleasant break away from stuffy clubhouses and simple greens. I have been surprised every time with the placement of the pins and rewarded with the lie of my ball in this small but well groomed course. I recommend the White Pine 9 to the avid golfer, the complete novice and anyone who wants to be treated well, have a good time and appreciate the surroundings. The price is good, the guys are friendly and the atmosphere is outstanding! This place is worth the stop!

Antelope Hills Golf Course
"Diamond in the rough"
In July, 2003 I had the chance to try out this little 9 hole course and I was very satisfied with my experience. The fairways were in tremendous condition and the greens offered a perfect putting surface. We could hear the coyotes howling as we started our round in the morning. The peacefulness alone (my wife and I were the only people on the course) was worth the price of green fees. The green fees, by the way, are very reasonable. The scenery from the first tee is spectacular, especially if you glance to the west. If you're looking for a tough challenge, this isn't the course for you. The course is not too challenging but is a perfect stop if you're a beginner or coming out of Yellowstone and want to just relax on the course. It's very wide open so you shouldn't lose any balls. My wife is a beginner golfer and had a very enjoyable round. Everything is well-maintained and we found the staff to be courteous and friendly. I plan on returning to play this course again and I highly recommend you give it a try. Definitely a course to walk (not ride) to get the full enjoyment.

Clifty Creek Golf Course

Clifty Creek is a subtle golf course isolated in the southern Indana landscape. Devoid of the typical golf snobbery this is a great course to relax with friends or work on your game. The only thing that this course is lacking is another nine holes and more sand traps, but I believe both are currently under construction.

Chantilly National Golf & Country Club
"Ball Striker's Course"
Chantilly is fairly open and forgiving -- wide fairways and large greens. But due to its length you cannot bump it around. Unless you play the women's or seniors tees, you actually need to HIT the ball to get around in a decent score. No sculling it off the tee and still having a decent shot at the green here. Even off the white tees, most players need to hit driver on 12 or 13 holes. The combination makes this rather traditional track a fair test. The turf conditions and greens are generally quite good. But the tee boxes could use work, and there are drainage problems on a few holes. This is not the most visually stunning track you will ever play. No dramatic dog legs or elevation changes. BUT it is a great walker's course. Fairly level, with greens and tees close together. Old style.
