"It's the people"
I love this golf course. I play in a tournament here every year. I always think I'm going to do better but it has these challenges that change my swing. You will find yourself protecting against going out of bounds, water hazards, sand, trees...they have it all. The number 9 eats me up. It's a dogleg right and if you can manage to stay away from the small canyon on the right you still have the challenge getting on the green that you better save an extra stroke for! Be careful if you go over this green....nothing but trouble. The main thing about this course is the people. They treat you like you were the only one playing that day. You will love the scenery also.

Cabin Brook Golf Course
"Canbin Brook is a fair golf course"
I have playd Cabin Brook many times growing up in the central Kentucky region. The fairways are wide enough for most beginners and the terrain only comes into play on a couple of holes. With the rolling hills, it is a good place to learn how to adjust your shots in your stance. The price, sometimes, can be a bit much but, it is worth it for the casual duffer.

Lonesome Pine Country Club
"Lonesome Pine"
This is a short course but will kick your butt if you get cocky. Greens are always pretty nice and quick - several a bit smaller than average. It's designer had lots of fund cutting holes and tee boxes out of the mountains. Several picture holes, namely number two where you start about 100 yards ABOVE the hole which plays a par 5 but is easily reachable in two. There's another nasty par 5 on the back nine that only plays about 400 yards but the fairway is as narrow as a keyhole and has a dogleg left which requires a precision iron shot then an approach to an uphill green. It's tough to get on this green in three. Clubhouse is cool. People are great. Good deal if you know a member and can get on.
