This club has two regulation eighteen hole golf courses, The Old and The New. The back nine holes on The New Course opened in summer, 1997. The Old Course has fairways that are lined with oak trees, and numerous sand bunkers have been incorporated into the design. Locals say the course is best known for its very peaceful atmosphere. Water hazards come into play on some holes. The terrain on the front nine is rolling, while the terrain on the back nine is extremely hilly. The scenery is spectacular, especially on the back nine, which features views of Lake Whitney. The signature hole is #13, a 158-yard, par 3, offering beautiful views overlooking the ravine. In addition, a stream flows through holes #14, #15, and #17. Wildlife, such as deer, squirrels, and foxes are present on the course. The New Course has greens that are tight and undulating. Water comes into play on all holes except two. Locals say this course is in excellent condition and well-manicured. The 6,198-yard men's tee on The New Course also has a ladies course rating of 76.6 and slope of 141.

| The New Course at White Bluff Resort is a true test of golf. I am biased, but this course will compete with any public course in the state. It is the annual host of Texas State Open. At 7,000 yards from the tips, length is not your concern. 1,2 and 3 are almost claustrophobic and getting to number 4 tee will bring a sigh of relief. You need to score on 4-8 and make par on 9 to keep a good round going. On 10, you'll need to stay left on large oak on the right side of the fairway. Water is lurking just behind the bunker. 11 is your best opportunity for birdie on the back. 12 is the signature hole on the New Course. The fairway is usually firm and you only need to play to 150 yd marker. Pray for a three on 15 and take a look at the green on 16 before swinging away on this dogleg right par 5. 18 is the #1 handicap and is a 460 yd. 4 par that plays into the prevailing south wind. Par here is a great score. If the 16 holes with water in play bother you, stop by the Old Course. It is an exceptional golf course that will produce birdie as easily as it will a triple. |

| I think that there's a serious problem with the score this course has received. Obviously, there has been too many hackers logging on to give thier opinions of this demanding resort course. The people over at White Bluff must be doing something right.....Why would they be hosting the Texas State Open there. Yeah, the course does demand a variety of shots, but that's the way golf was intended to be played. Not blasting driver off every T, in any which direction at some "muni" track. If that's what you like, don't come play here. This one's for the REAL golfers!! |
