This course held a grand reopening in 1997 after completing renovations on its 11,000-square foot clubhouse and installing concrete cart paths and bridges on the course. The unique and secluded layout is very scenic. Water hazards (a creek and small ponds) come into play on twelve holes. The signature hole is #2, a 222-yard, par 3, requiring a tee shot over a pond to the green. Walking is allowed only during the week. There is a separate green fee rate on Fridays.

Enjoyable Value, Jun 03, 2004
reviewer: Bryan from Conroe, TX
I played Texas National last Friday and paid $28 for greens fee and cart. This course is great for that price. Greens were in good shape, maybe a little slower than I like, but fair. Course played well and was not crowded. I would definitely recommend playing there if you are in the area.

Get away from it all, Apr 28, 2004
reviewer: Clayton from Round Rock, TX USA
I used to regularly drive an hour and a half just to play Texas National in Willis (now live 3 hours away). The course is very uncrowded during the week, and because it is off the beaten path you get a truly relaxing sense of being "away from it all". Regardless of whether you're playing well or not, the quiet stillness of the surroundings will amaze you and bring you back. Texas National will both energize and relax you at the same time.

Texas National is a great value., Feb 02, 2004
reviewer: Dave Ross from Shenandoah, TX
This is a great course kept in extremely good shape. It is a little far out from Houston but if you live anywhere on the north side, it's well worth the drive. It's inexpensive and not crowded, especially on weekdays. The greens are in very good shape and the course is challenging without being a killer.
