| A very challenging course for the novice to low range handicapper (12 and below). Most greens are well protected by bunkers and though some greens are large, the challenge to get it close to the pin still remains formidable. Leave a shot just on the edge of the green and you may have to deal with a 40 foot putt! Rolling fairways, some with deep gorges downhill and steep uphills are challenging to even the best players. Excellent clubhouse and restaurant. Very polite, helpful staff too. Enjoyed my day at this facility! Oh, no driving range available at course. They need to build a driving range on site! |

| Delcastle is a nice, novice level challange for golfers. Wide fairways allow for some give in drives, overall very forgiving course. Good course to go and work out your game! |

Public golf the way it should be, Jul 20, 2004 |

| I've played many courses in the New Castle County, DE and Delaware County, PA area and Delcastle is the most enjoyable to play. The holes are both challenging and fair, with rewards for good shots but no undue penalties for slightly wayward shots. There are trees, of course, but not so thick or close to fairways that you can't recover or at least advance the ball. The greens are excellent and consistent, and with a par 72, there's plenty of chance to use every club and test yourself on the 4 par 5s. The other aspect of Delcastle is the length, which includes only one short par 4. The rest are 350+ (and several are close but not much over 400), resulting in a fair test of driving distance and accuracy. |
