This resort was named to "GOLF Magazine's" 1996 list of "Silver Medal Resorts." The Devils Knob Course was built atop a mountain and provides views of both the distant Blue Ridge Mountains and the Piedmont Foothills. At an elevation of 3,850 feet, it is the highest course in the state. The small greens are undulating, and the narrow fairways are tree lined. The Monocan/Shmokin (also known as Stoney Creek) Course requires shots over streams and Lake Monocan. The scenery is breathtaking because views of the surrounding mountains may be seen in the distance. "Golf Digest" rated The Stoney Creek Course 34th among "America's 75 Best Resort Courses" and 71st in the category of the "Top 75 Upscale Courses" for 1996. In addition, it was rated as the 2nd "Best Public Course" in the state for 1996. In the category of "Best in State," the same publication named it 6th best for the years 1995 through 1998.

Sunset Hill Golf Club
"Sunset is an awesome course!"
Sunset Hill is an awesome course. I play on a high school golf team, and its our practice course. But after season is over, we have to start paying to play golf again. The one thing that Sunset is good for is that it's cheap and reliable. I as a high school athelete, don't feel like paying 50 dollars to go play some course with a tee time that is just horrible. Sunset on the other hand has a low price thats friendly to the everyday golfer. So it might not be in the best shape, but its fun to play because there is no rush and its cheap to play. All in all, its an awesome course!

Sunnybrook Country Club
"Trouble in all the right places"
Sunnybrook is a 45 year old course designed by Bruce Matthews. It is a joy to play and in excellent condition. A map of it may look pretty straight forward, but there is trouble in places you simply have to play around. Grass is in great shape and well cared for. The premium is on hitting a straight ball and knowing your club selection.

One of the best 9 hole courses I have ever played. It has some hazards and great landscaping to help it set itself apart from other courses. The greens are fast and the fairways are long! I enjoyed the course more than most 18's.

Casta del Sol Golf Course
"A fun golfing experience"
My son and I enjoyed a day of pleasant and challenging golf at Casta Del Sol recently. It was a little hot, and the fairways were dried up, making for tough mid-field shots, but for the cost and convenience to our home it was unbeatable. I recommend a hat and sunscreen.
