This course was built on wooded hills in the Wisconsin river country. The architect used the natural terrain to his advantage. The fast greens are medium to large sized, hold well and putt exceptional. Water hazards come into play on at least nine different occasions. The fairways are narrow. The University of Wisconsin golf team, which won the Big 10 championship in 1997, voted this course in their top 10. Walking the course is permitted after 3 PM. Discounts are available for property owners.

Christmas Mountain - Beautiful Golf Experience!, Jul 13, 2004

I golfed Christmas mountain for a whole weekend and experienced a wonderful course, very well maintained. Some of the views out on the course were breath-taking. It was also pretty neat to see wild turkeys and deer out on the course! Definately would head out there again to stay in one of their Villas for the weekend!

"Rancho review"
A medium difficult course with variable slopes,and hill sides with a different lie angle on nearly every shot. Large undulating greens with good speed. The greens are near perfect right now but that doesn't mean they're a push over. Making it one the green is only the start. A challenge.

"WOW, WHAT A COURSE!!!!!!!"
I have never putted on such undulating greens in my life, this course gave me fits.... I had never played here so I didnt know what I was in for, really tough course if your not familiar with it.... I crushed a drive on one hole, dont rememeber which one but I thought I hit at least a 300yd drive, well I did but it landed in a pond on the other side of a sloping fairway. Never knew the the water was there.... you cant see it from the tee box... (very sneaky). just one of the great holes on this gem....if you want some putting practice, then this your course.... go for it....

Walden Ponds Golf Club

I played in two outings at Walden Ponds golf club in 2003 and I found that the attention to detail was outstanding in both instances. The staff was extremely helpful and the golf course was one of the finest conditioned courses that I played in 2003 including private clubs. I highly recommend that you experience this golf course.
