| For a municipal track Oyster Bay Town Golf Course is generally in excellent condition. It is 18 holes crammed into space for about 16. Although it is a short course the designers have made up for its lack of length by narrow fairways, strategic water, lots of trees, difficult greens and changes in elevation. Hole number 4 requires pinpoint accuracy on the first shot and exacting distance control on the second. No. 8 is a par three with almost no margin for error (OB left steep falloff right)if you want to birdie it. Holes 16, 17, and 18 are among the most difficult series of finishing holes around. Playing it is all about precise aim and distance control. |
