This championship course is the centerpiece of a residential recreation complex of 350 homes. The regulars refer to the two nines as "Jekyll and Hyde." The front side is tree-lined, the back side is surrounded by the east branch of the DuPage River and Prentiss Creek, and they provide very different challenges. Eleven of the greens are two-tiered and all have some mounding or contour. Pay great attention to pin placement, this course can be had, but on a windy day it plays at least five shots harder. The club has been the site of some celebrity events, most notably the Michael Jordan Classic, and is angling to get more prestigious tournaments in the future. Caddies are mandatory if you choose to walk the course. For tee times call (630) 964-4653.

"When you need to play, you need to play"
This course is not very hard or long. The maintnance could use some help. When it comes down to it, its all about cost. This course is cheap and not usally too busy.

"Greens Can Be Fast Without Being Like Concrete"
Take this course to Scotland where it belongs. Whomever is the greenskeeper here needs a bit of elementary training in the concept of WATER. Greens can be fast without being unreceptive to a golfball. It is rediculous when a topped 4-iron produces a better result than a high, spinning wedge. It is a well-designed course, but you just can't hide the pins behind bunkers when the golfer has no chance of holding the green. It is just plain goofy golf. To watch fairly accomplished players putt from 20 yards off the green is just too bad.

Redstone Golf Course - Hillside/Meadowview Course
"The Arsenal Courses"
Hillside and Meadowview are generally better than Whispering Pines. Each nine has its own character. Hillside was renovated in 2001. For the low price the courses are pretty good. The fairways are pretty wide, some, but not a lot of trouble, although there are a few very challenging holes on each nine. The ninth on Hillside used to be a par four, so its fun for us duffers to play a par five that we can reach in two evry once in a while. The ninth on Meadowview requires a good drive over water, # 7 is a 192 par three with a green that is not very deep but very wide.The course is kept in pretty good condition yearround. Not much water or sand.

Pebble Creek Golf Club
"as good as it gets"
Pebble Creek is the best public golf course I have found in central Ohio. It is a chalenging, and very well manicured course. It offers a nice clubhouse and very friendly service. I highly recomend it.
