This course, located in a wooded area, originally opened as a private club, but went public in the 1950's. The greens are sloped and fast. The most difficult hole is #13, a 394-yard, par 4, which requires you to carry a creek off the tee and hit a narrow landing area. Out-of-bounds is located on the right, and your second shot is uphill to a small green with out-of-bounds behind the green. Ladies receive a discount on Wednesdays.

I played with a friend and had a great time, the course is challanging, but I'm new to golf. The course was maintained beautifully. To be honest for the price it was great and hope to play alot more in the future.

Dan is wrong!, May 11, 2004 |

Sounds like Dan from Lancaster had a little trouble on the long par five sixth hole. A well placed tee shot will avoid that fairway bunker. Try aiming a little left next time. I am a 16 handicap and have only gone sub-90 on that course twice. VERY challenging and fair. The carts are great, the course conditions are improving and the people are... real golfers, not country club pretenders. Play this course and you will be back for another shot... a true test.

I am also going to have to recommend Cool Creek. The course is generally well maintained. Very playable and great scenery. And the price is good too - much cheaper then Heritage Hills. Albeit not as nice, but still a good deal for the money. I would recommend.

I disagree with Dan from lancaster, Honey Run is way less maintained than cool creek. The carts they have are amazing with GPS tracking that gives you acurrate yardages from the tee, to the pin, and the option to order some food from the cart after the 8th green. The screen looks like the old CPU game the oregon trail. I love it just for the cart and the course is alittle under maintained, but its alot better than Honey Run!! It's a definite must play in York

For $33 to walk, you've got better and nicer choices in the Lancaster/York area. The overall condition is not good. A recently created bunker in the middle of a fairway had large rocks(boulders) that make it unplayable. Better choices in the area include Heritage Hills, Honey Run, Four Seasons, and Crossgates.
